Hello online world! We're still available to offer a wide variety of free, fun and structured support services and activities for families with children - just for now we're having to do it virtually.
Keep in touch
The best way to keep in touch with us is to become a Family Hub member - it's free to join and you'll be the first to know about all of the things we have available.
What is a virtual hub?
Because we can't meet in person for awhile we wanted to keep in touch online - this is our virtual hub! Take a look through our weekly timetable below, this week you can watch the videos that have been filmed all over Doncaster and from the 4th May we will be adding new, exciting videos and resources for you to enjoy. Here are a few highlights:
- We're Going on a Bear Hunt! Join Helen our Early Years Worker for a Book Chatter, Book Play story-time, in which we will be following the story of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!’ by Michael Rosen.
- Messy Play! Join Kerry in making some play dough at home, all you need is Flour, Salt and Water! Enjoy!
- Baby Session – Join in with your baby – in this session we're looking at sensory activities!
- Mark Making – Janine is doing some mark making with you. All you need to join in is, a paintbrush or twig, a piece of chalk and a little bit of water!
Virtual Parenting Sessions
Parenting is tough! It’s even harder during COVID-19! Would you like to join a virtual group of invited parents and parenting facilitators talking about some of the issues faced whilst in lock down and maybe some ideas on how to overcome these. If you would like to join the virtual group for top tips, support or even just a listening ear, please email FamilyHubManagementTeam@doncaster.gov.uk or ring 01302 737350 to arrange an invite to the session via Microsoft Teams (Limited to 8 parents per session).
- Parenting children - Tuesdays, 2-3pm
- Parenting teenagers - Wednesdays, 2-3pm
It’s normal for families to argue at home (especially when we’ve hardly left the house for 2 months!)...BUT if they are becoming a problem then help is at hand.
A new website called Relationship Matters is here for you and your family if you think you’re struggling.
Whether couples are together or separated, disagreements are completely normal but evidence shows that regular conflict can have a big impact on children.
The website is full of useful advice and how you can access support. It can help you see how your behaviour might be making things worse in your home. Stay calm and work it out.
