UCI 2019 - Community
Once again, the communities along the route did Doncaster proud with their enthusiasm for the event. Numerous Community Groups and organisations decorated their areas in Rainbow coloured Bunting / flags and painted bikes.

In addition to decorating their communities, many groups came together to deliver events in their towns and villages. The following are just some we were made aware of:-
People Focused Group

- Community fun day / Traditional family sports day
- Bicycle relays
- Rounders
- Egg and spoon race
- Fencing
- Big board games
- Bike safety checks
- Bikes available to loan from the centre
- Face Painting
- Music group/band that provided music on the day
- Tree Yarn Bombing
- Opportunities for people to hang fitness pledges on the tree of fitness
- Food and refreshments including halal burgers
- Muslim Ladies Fencing class there to teach some basic skills

- Kingthorne Group Practice with health checks and other Health related activities.
- Promoting cycling and health/fitness awareness

- ‘Sterile’ zone for disabled, less abled, b-friend members and special needs visitors to have an unrestricted view of the races
- Public arts and crafts sessions to make/knit/crochet bunting for the fences; create land art for the park
Dunsville Community Centre

- Macmillan Coffee morning to raise funds for the Macmillan charity
- Opened the centre early to sell refreshments to people watching the race
