Purchase cards
The council currently uses Corporate Visa Purchasing Cards within a number of its services.
Purchase cards are an E-Procurement tool, which assists in the purchase of low value, low risk goods and services ensuring efficiency and cost effectiveness.
The benefits to the council of a properly administered purchase card system include:
- Prompt payment is improved
- Reduction in ordering time and errors
- Simplified process
- Faster delivery
- Better information
- One monthly statement to verify instead of multiple invoices to check
- One payment to the bank instead of multiple payments to many suppliers
