Purchase cards

The council currently uses Corporate Visa Purchasing Cards within a number of its services.

Purchase cards are an E-Procurement tool, which assists in the purchase of low value, low risk goods and services ensuring efficiency and cost effectiveness. 

The benefits to the council of a properly administered purchase card system include:

  • Reduction in ordering time and errors
  • Simplified process
  • Faster delivery
  • Better information
  • One monthly statement to verify instead of multiple invoices to check
  • One payment to the bank instead of multiple payments to many suppliers
