Purchase cards
The Council currently uses Corporate Visa Purchasing Cards across several of its services.
Purchase cards are an e-procurement tool designed to support the purchase of low-value, low-risk goods and services—helping to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
A well-administered purchase card system offers several benefits to the Council, including:
- Improved prompt payment
- Reduced ordering time and fewer errors
- A simplified procurement process
- Faster delivery of goods and services
- Enhanced transaction information and reporting
- One monthly statement for verification, replacing multiple individual invoices
- A single consolidated payment to the bank, rather than multiple payments to various suppliers
