The Council currently uses Corporate Visa Purchasing Cards across several of its services.

Purchase cards are an e-procurement tool designed to support the purchase of low-value, low-risk goods and services—helping to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

A well-administered purchase card system offers several benefits to the Council, including:

  • Improved prompt payment
  • Reduced ordering time and fewer errors
  • A simplified procurement process
  • Faster delivery of goods and services
  • Enhanced transaction information and reporting
  • One monthly statement for verification, replacing multiple individual invoices
  • A single consolidated payment to the bank, rather than multiple payments to various suppliers
