Our One Stop Shop, Civic Office, Waterdale, DN1 3BU have self serve computers for public use, with digital assistants on hand for support and guidance.

Opening times are Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm, last admission for help with applications will be 4:30pm.

Cancel a Blue Badge

Please let us know if someone who had a Blue Badge has died. We will update our records immediately so that no more correspondence is sent out. Please return the badge, confirming the date of death, to

If you are using the Tell Us Once process to register the death of someone who had a Blue Badge, if you give permission, this information will be passed to us so that you do not need to contact us separately.

You will still need to return the badge to us.

If your circumstances have changed and you no longer need a Blue Badge, please post it back to the address above and tell us the reason you no longer need it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a badge?

You would need to submit an application with supporting medical evidence for us to assess your eligibility for a badge under the current guidance, you can find more information at Who can get a Blue Badge - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Can I have a temporary badge?

We cannot issue temporary badges for any reason. Department for Transport guidance does not allow for any temporary badges.

I am applying for a badge for a child under the age of 3 What evidence do I need to provide?

Recent Consultant/Paediatrician letters, and Photo’s of any bulky medical equipment which needs to be carried with your child

What medical evidence do I need to apply for a badge?

In most cases a Patient Summary, showing Active Problems, Significant Past and Medications, or Consultant letters which provide information in relation to your condition, should be sufficient for us to assess your application.

I have received my badge, but it has less than 3 years awarded, why?

If you have applied under the category of being in receipt of PIP, we can only award the badge to the end of your PIP award.

I have received my new badge; do I need to send back my old badge?

Yes, all badges need to be returned to the Civic Office, Waterdale, Doncaster, DN1 3BU.

I have changed my car; do you need my new registration number?

No, we don’t record car registration numbers.

How long before my badge expires should I re-apply?

We recommend to re-apply 8 weeks before your badge expires.

I get PIP, do I qualify for a badge?

It depends what mobility score you have been awarded, you can check your score against information on Who can get a Blue Badge - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

I am in receipt of Attendance Allowance Do I qualify for a badge?

You wouldn’t meet the Automatic criteria, however you can still apply for a badge and provide supporting medical evidence and we will assess your eligibility for a badge.

I have been refused a badge, can I re-apply?

You can re-apply for a badge after 6 months from the date of your refusal letter, unless your circumstances have significantly changed.

I don’t drive anymore, can I still use my badge?

Yes of course, you can use the badge in any vehicle as long as you are travelling with the vehicle when the badge is being used.

Can I have more than 1 badge?

No unfortunately only 1 badge can be issued.
