Street Tree Consultations
Find out details of current consultations and the decisions of previous consultations relating to the felling of street trees.
A street tree is any tree growing in a street at the edge of the carriageway or within the verge or footway.
Where felling a street tree is being considered, then in line with S115 of the Environment Act 2021 and 96A of the Highways Act 1980, City of Doncaster Council have a duty to consult the public before a final decision is made. There are certain reasons or circumstances which are exempt from the duty to consult, these are listed in the legislation.
The information on this page relates only to where the duty to consult applies.
Where a consultation is required, it will be published on the tree and on this webpage. Each consultation will be open for a minimum of 28 days. When the consultation has closed the decision will be published below.
Current street trees under consultation
| Removal of 10 trees - across 3 locations on Greens Way, Mexborough |
| Statement of reasons: T4,T5:The removal of these trees is needed to provide the space needed to alter the layout of the Market Street and Greens Way junction. The changed junction layout will enable vehicles to enter and exit Greens Way at this junction and replaces the current layout where access is currently restricted to exit from Greens Way only. T6,T7,T8,T9,T10: The removal of these trees is needed to allow space from the central reserve to be used to make alterations to the junction between Greens Way and Bank Street. These include providing access from the westbound carriageway and improved pedestrian and cycling facilities whilst retaining appropriate safety buffers and dual lanes on the approach to Adwick Road roundabout. |
