Coronavirus update 01/10/20 - Pedestrianisation of Town Centre

All the suspended bay signage has been removed and the original signage and restrictions are now back in place within the Doncaster Town Centre Pedestrian Zone.

Since the disabled bays have been reinstated in the Town centre, the temporary measure that all Blue Badge holders to park in any Pay & Display Bay as well as the disabled bays in any council operated car park, while displaying a valid Disabled Blue Badge.  Has been revoked and Blue badge holder once again can only park with a designated disabled bay within council operated car parks, while displaying a valid Disabled Blue Badge.

We are committed to ensuring that we reduce the risk of Coronavirus for all our staff and customers. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated.

Coronavirus update 14/09/20 - Parking restrictions around Doncaster Royal Infirmary

We are extremely grateful for the essential services provided by NHS Key Workers, whose contributions have allowed us to move into the recovery phase.

Since the introduction of the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, most authorities throughout England have implemented temporary guidance and measures to assist NHS Key Workers to be able to park freely so that they could continue to provide essential services.

As the COVID-19 lock down is gradually eased, it is becoming necessary for us to resume parking enforcement, to respond to the increase in car travel and to address complaints in this area. As the Highway Authority, we must strike a fair and equal balance for all road users.  Our approach will free up parking spaces for all motorists in the community by making parking spaces available for local residents, hospital visitors and deliveries.

Warning notices will be given from 14th September 2020 to draw people’s attention to the parking rules in this area and from the 21st September 2020, Penalty Charge Notices may be issued to vehicles parked in contravention.

We do not wish to take enforcement action at this time, but we do have a responsibility to local communities in maintaining control of parking.

Doncaster Council will keep measures under constant review in light of any rapidly changing situations, update, and reinstate concessions as necessary.

Coronavirus update 24/08/20 - Pedestrian Zone

The pedestrian zone is now back to how it was before the pandemic.

Please note that Silver Street is now a one way street from the High Street towards Sunny Bar and is closed for vehicles in an evening to support the evening economy. This was part of the improvements made in the Quality Streets regeneration scheme.

Coronavirus update - Colonnades car park update – open as normal from *15/06/2020*

Please be advised that Colonnades car park will be returning back to normal operation from the 22nd June 2020 and payment will be required on this car park.

If you require any further information then please contact the enforcement team by email enforcementteam@doncaster.gov.uk or contact 01302 735041.

Coronavirus update 20/05/20 - Parking restrictions round Doncaster Royal Infirmary

Following the latest guidance regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and following Government advice to Councils to put in measures to ensure adequate social distancing during the current period of Covid-19. Doncaster council are temporarily closing some streets within the Town Centre and turning them in to a Pedestrian Zone between the hours 10:30 – 16:00.  Therefore, as a temporary measure all Blue Badge holders can now park in any Pay & Display Bay as well as the disabled bays in any council operated car park, while displaying a valid Disabled Blue Badge.  We are committed to ensuring that we reduce the risk of Coronavirus for all our staff and customers. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated.
