Remake Learning for Life Week – Grant Funding Overview

Thanks to the Pathways To Work Programme this grant funding opportunity is available to support Doncaster and South Yorkshire-based organisations in delivering high-quality, hands-on events and activities as part of the wider Remake Learning Days (RLD) agenda. Originally introduced to the UK by City of Doncaster Council in 2023, Remake Learning Days is a globally recognised initiative that brings together a diverse network of educators, community groups, cultural institutions, and employers to reimagine learning. The programme aims to create a more engaging, relevant, and equitable future for education by offering accessible, inspiring experiences that spark curiosity and build lifelong skills.

In addition to the annual festival, the RLD programme includes a series of smaller, locality-based ‘pop-up’ events throughout the year. These are designed to reach specific communities and cohorts with targeted learning opportunities. The next of these Remake Learning for Life Weeks will take place in the Stainforth area from 26th to 30th January. Due to the focus of the Pathways to Work initiative this week-long programme focuses on engaging individuals aged 16 and over, particularly those who are economically inactive, by offering meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that encourage exploration of future career, volunteering, and education pathways.

What can I apply for?

Organisations can apply for funding to deliver activities that are engaging, inclusive, and accessible, and that promote the development of technical, practical, life, and socio-emotional skills. Activities should be designed to boost wellbeing, build confidence, raise aspirations, and help participants discover new interests or talents. Whether through creative workshops, skills tasters, interactive demonstrations, or career-focused sessions, the goal is to provide participants with a platform to reflect on their potential and consider their next steps in learning or employment.

All funded sessions must be delivered within the Stainforth area, and must take place during the specified dates. The programme encourages collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to inclusive practice, ensuring that all participants, regardless of background or ability, can benefit from the opportunities on offer.
