Give the best gift; help a child to believe in themselves

Could you help a young person to discover their own talents and abilities?

Be the start of something that changes everything – become a mentor with us.

We are looking for volunteers who can help inspire children and young people to achieve their career aspirations.

Our mentoring scheme is focused on helping young people to raise their aspirations, realise their potential and have a clear understanding of how they will achieve their ambitions.

Through your role as a mentor, you will help encourage positive choices, promote high self-esteem, academic support and introduce new ideas. Simple things may seem straightforward to you, maybe a complete mystery to a young person – opening up their lives to a world of possibilities.

This programme has been funded by the Department for Education through the Doncaster Opportunity Area

What is a mentor?

Your role as a mentor is to be supportive individuals who build relationships with young people offering them guidance, support, and encouragement to help young people reach their full potential.

You will help increase the team of adults (parents, guardians, and teachers) who are there for the child.

What are the benefits of becoming a volunteer?

Being a mentor is not only personally rewarding, but it is a great way to enhance your skill set, explore new career options and improve your employability.

All mentors will be provided with a full training programme on how to undertake mentoring and it will be delivered around your work and life commitments.

We are looking for people, aged 18 or above, who can support a young person for up to 2 years and you would be expected to meet with them at least once a month. All mentors will need to have a DBS check.

If you feel that you can encourage potential and inspire change, call Andrea Moore on 01302 736152 or email andrea.moore@dcstrust.co.uk
