Community Investment Masterplans

The Council has produced a first round of Community Investment Masterplans covering the communities of Edlington, Rossington and Thorne-Moorends.

Background

The first round of Community Investment Masterplans (CIMs) were commissioned in Spring 2021 and completed in April 2022.

The projects within the 3 CIM’s focus on improvements to the public realm (streets and spaces) and key buildings or groups of buildings in the centre of each of the communities. The projects should make the public realm safer, more attractive and functional for pedestrians and cyclists whilst still catering for vehicular access. Examples of projects include enhanced crossing facilities, better quality pavements, spaces for the community to hold events and tree planting.

The CIM’s are proving valuable and are forming the basis of a large part of the Levelling up Fund (LUF) Round 2 bids to Government. In particular key projects from the CIM’s in Edlington and Moorends have been included in the LUF bids.

The three Masterplans can be viewed below - please note that due to the nature of these documents some of them are quite large and may take a while to open.
