Burghwallis Neighbourhood Plan
Following a successful Referendum the Burghwallis Neighbourhood Plan was 'made' by Full Council on the 24 November 2016 when it was adopted as part of Doncaster’s Development Plan.

The referendum on the Burghwallis Neighbourhood Plan was held on Thursday 27 October 2016 and the results are published below.
The question asked in the referendum was:
"Do you want Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Burghwallis to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"
Number of votes cast in favour of a 'Yes' - 76
Number of votes cast in favour of a 'No' - 11
Votes cast - 87
Electorate – 245
Turnout – 25.51%%
Spoilt votes - 0
The report of the Independent Examination of the Burghwallis Neighbourhood Development Plan prepared by Nigel Mark McGurk BSC (Hons) MBA MCD MRTP has been received and recommends that the Neighbourhood Plan should, subject to the recommended modifications, proceed to referendum.

The Local Planning Authority, working with Burghwallis Parish Council, are considering the recommended modifications. Our response to the recommendations will be published shortly.
The report also recommends that the Neighbourhood Plan should proceed to a Referendum based on the Neighbourhood Area as approved by the council (Burghwallis parish boundary).
Details of the referendum will be published on the website at the appropriate time.
Regulation 16 Publication of Burghwallis Neighbourhood Development Plan
Following the completion of Regulation 14 pre-submission consultation and publicity on their Neighbourhood Plan, Burghwallis Parish Council have submitted the following documents to the Local Planning Authority for examination under Part 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.

The Burghwallis Neighbourhood Development Plan and associated documents can also be inspected on-line at the reception of the Civic Office, Waterdale, Doncaster, DN1 3BU during normal opening hours or viewed on-line at libraries and customer service centres during their normal opening hours.

Representations on the Plan may include a request to be notified of the Local Planning Authority’s decision under regulation 19 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 on the plan proposal (whether to make or to refuse to make the Neighbourhood Development Plan).
This publicity ended on Friday 9 October 2015.
Burghwallis Parish Council submitted a screening request to the Local Planning Authority to establish whether a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)was required. The screening opinion and the responses from Historic England, Natural England and the Environment Agency confirm that a SEA is not required.

Pre-submission consultation and publicity (Regulation 14)
Burghwallis Parish Council published their draft Neighbourhood Plan on Monday 9 February for 6 weeks.
The Plan can be viewed below and was available to view during the consultation on the Burghwallis Parish Council and at Askern Community Library, Station Road, Askern, Doncaster Central Library, Waterdale, Doncaster and Woodlands Community Library and Hub, Windmill Balk Lane, Woodlands.
A drop-in surgery in the Burghwallis Public House was also held on 23 February 2015 between 3pm and 7pm.

The consultation is now closed and the Parish Council are preparing to submit the Neighbourhood Plan.
Designation of the Neighbourhood Area for the Burgwallis Neighbourhood Plan
At Planning Committee on 2 November 2012 the Neighbourhood Area was designated for Burghwallis Parish Council.
Designation means that the parish council have approval to progress a plan for the designated area and no other parish/town council or Neighbourhood Forum can complete a Neighbourhood Plan for the area.
