Bawtry Neighbourhood Plan - Adopted
Following a successful Referendum on Thursday 12 September, Bawtry's Neighbourhood Plan was "made (adopted) by Full Council on Thursday 21 November 2019.

Bawtry Neighbourhood Plan Referendum Results
The Referendum for Bawtry's Neighbourhood Plan was held on Thursday 12 September 2019 and the results are published below.
The questions asked in the Referendum was:
Do you want Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Bawtry to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?
Number of votes cast in favour of a 'YES' - 411
Number of votes cast in favour of a 'NO' - 79
Votes cast - 490
Electorate – 2,675
Turnout – 17.72%
Spoilt votes - 0
Independent Examination – Examiner's report
The report of the Independent Examination of the Bawtry Neighbourhood Development Plan prepared by Robert Bryan BA Hons MRTPI has been received and recommends that the Neighbourhood Plan should, subject to the recommended modifications, proceed to referendum.

The Local Planning Authority are considering the recommended modifications. Our response to the recommendations will be published shortly.
The report also recommends that the Neighbourhood Plan should proceed to a Referendum based on the Neighbourhood Area as approved by the Council (Bawtry parish boundary).
The examiner has started a preliminary assessment of the documentation for Bawtry's Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP). In the meantime we have received an e-mail regarding Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA) screening opinion, to meet the new basic condition:
"The making of the neighbourhood development plan does not breach the requirements of Chapter 8 of Part 6 of the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017".

Regulation 16 - Bawtry Neighbourhood Development Plan
Following the completion of Regulation 14 pre-submission consultation and publicity on their Neighbourhood Plan, Bawtry Town Council have submitted the following documents to the Local Planning Authority, for examination under Part 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).
The consultation period has now ended. The Council has now appointed an independent assessor Robert Bryan BA Hons. MRTPI to undertake the examination. If you would like to be included to be notified of the Local Planning Authority's decision under regulation 19 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 on the plan proposal (whether to make or to refuse to make the Neighbourhood Development Plan) please contact email@example.com
It is the responsibility of Doncaster Council to collate all the representations made and pass these on to the independent examiner, who will examine the plan documents and assess whether the plan is in line with legislation and can therefore proceed to a referendum.

Bawtry Town Council submitted a screening request to the Local Planning Authority to establish whether a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) was required. The screening opinion and the responses received to date confirm that a SEA is not required.

Regulation 14 Pre-submission consultation and publicity
Bawtry Town Council published their draft Neighbourhood Plan for a six-week consultation period. The Plan is available to view on the Bawtry Town Council website.
The deadline was 21 May 2018, which has now closed.
Bawtry have now published their timetable for the production of the Neighbourhood Plan.

A public exhibition showing a first draft of the plan was held at Bawtry Methodist Church Hall on Wednesday December 13 2016.

Designation of the Neighbourhood Area for the Bawtry Neighbourhood Plan
The Bawtry Neighbourhood Plan area has been designated and covers the whole of the parish of Bawtry.
Designation means that the parish council have approval to progress a plan for the designated area and no other parish/town council or Neighbourhood Forum can complete a Neighbourhood Plan for the area.
Application for the designation of the Neighbourhood Area for the Bawtry Neighbourhood Plan
An application was received from Bawtry Town Council for the designation of a Neighbourhood Area. This was in accordance with Part 2, Regulation 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. On 20 September 2016 the Council confirmed the Neighbourhood Area was designated. Designation means that the Town Council have approval to progress a plan for the designated area and no other Town/Parish Council or Neighbourhood Forum can complete a Neighbourhood Plan for the area.
