Specialist and Supported Housing:

Specialist housing is used to describe a home designed or adapted to meet a specific need and where no support is immediately needed or provided.  Specialist housing can be part of a new build development or can include existing homes that has been adapted to include items such as a stair lift. 

Supported housing refers to homes where there is a level of support attached, either floating support (a visiting support worker) or where support is on site 24/7. 

Specialist and supported housing in Doncaster are usually delivered in partnership with Registered Social Landlords (Housing Associations).

Retirement living offers homes that are designed for people aged 55years and over which promote independent living.  Accommodation is designed for those who wish to live independently in their own home, but with the peace of mind of having an on-site housing/court manager.  Residents have access to communal facilities, such as a shared lounge and gardens.

Supported Living

Supported living enable people with a disability to live independently in their own self-contained home, designed with additional needs in mind.  Accommodation is provided with appropriate and tailored support to help people manage their own tenancy and achieve greater independence and control in their lives.
