The First Aid at Work training course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most workplaces to become a confident first aider at work. Giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health & Safety (First Aid) regulations.

Topics within this qualification are regarded by the HSE as being important in maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health in the workplace.

These skills are not exclusive to the workplace of course and are invaluable in everyday life.

The training is available to individual candidates subject to demand or can be delivered at your business premises to a maximum of 12 employees per course.

  • Assessing an incident
  • Managing an unresponsive casualty
  • The Respiratory System
  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Seizures
  • The Human Skeleton
  • Fractures and Dislocations
  • Sprains and Strains
  • Chest Injuries
  • Dealing with major injuries
  • Other injuries

The course requires 18 hours contact time over 3 days including refreshment breaks.

Assessment/Qualification

The course is assessed on an ongoing basis and on successful completion of the course the delegates will receive the nationally accredited Highfield Level 3 Award in First Aid in the Workplace (RQF)
