So, How do I get started?

Care work is a skilled and professional role, however, for most roles you won't need any previous experience or formal qualifications to get started, as all the training you need will be provided. (you will need formal qualifications for roles such as Social Worker & Occupational Therapists)

What you do need, is to be a caring and compassionate person who genuinely wants to help care and support others who are vulnerable.

Our Proud to Care Recruitment team are on hand to support you in finding the right vacancy for you, help you to complete our simple application form and can also support you during the interview process and beyond. Get in touch with us now to start the journey to your new role!

There is also a lot of support available if you have been out of work for a while or are looking to move into Adult Social Care from another sector. See below for more information

All Adult Social Care Workers need a few core skills, for example, English and basic number skills. You need to be able to do everyday tasks like communicating, listening and understanding others needs and making notes. You also need personal skills in team work and problem solving.

Working in adult social care gives you the chance to build on the skills you have and learn new ones, with a range of different roles available. Not only that, but with a vast array of progression opportunities in the sector, you could make this a long term career. Just bring your natural caring qualities and personality, and we’ll provide the training you need to thrive and succeed.

What job roles are available?

If you’re passionate about helping people there are lots of different roles to choose from. There are also plenty of opportunities to progress or specialise in a particular area.

Depending on your skills and interests, you could choose to focus on a career pathway that takes you into:

  • Direct work supporting people to live the life they want and do the things that matter to them
  • Team leader and management roles
