Local Doncaster Business Expands to Global Network

Doncaster based RSM Lining Supplies Global Ltd was founded in 2003 by Managing Director Richard Davis, and in 2006 they moved to their first 200 sq. ft unit employing just 2 people. Seventeen years later, the business is now a multinational organisation employing 55 staff (mostly local) at their 35,000 sq. ft Head Office here in Doncaster.

They have an additional head office in New South Wales, Australia, along with facilities in Melbourne, which also recently relocated to larger premises due to increasing customer demand. They aspire to develop their global market even further, with a growing number of distributors worldwide.

The business offers a vast array of materials and equipment for Cured In Place Pipe Relining (CIPP), ranging from ambient cure systems using simple thermosetting resins to extremely technologically advanced curing methods using UV LED light.

They also offer the most comprehensive range of liner impregnation services across the whole of the UK and Ireland. With the largest factory impregnation system in the UK, they can accommodate liners up to 2000mm (80inches) in diameter.

RSM’s on-site technical support team have over 40 years’ combined experience in the drainage industry. They can assist contractors with projects of any magnitude from small diameter ambient cured liners to the most demanding hot cure, steam cure, and UV cured liners. They also offer a range of certified training packages.

Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones, said: “We truly value the business community’s passion and energy in creating business growth and jobs for the borough. Doncaster Council is playing its part through Business Doncaster, ensuring businesses receive the best quality support and information on business grants and initiatives in order to support such growth.”

“Trying to grow a business and build its resilience, whilst also keeping on top of the day-to-day work can often be overwhelming. This is exactly why the Business Doncaster team is available to help our businesses build and strengthen.”

Richard Davis, RSM’s Managing Director, said: “We have always aimed to enforce our ethos: ‘To introduce choice and technology to the industry we serve.’ I believe this has helped us grow into the business we are today. The business has developed significantly over the past 12 months, and I couldn’t be prouder of the team and what has been achieved”.

“The support we have received from Business Doncaster has been really valuable and it’s great that such initiatives exist, especially for businesses looking to take their next steps”

“The new space has meant we can increase our day-to-day stock holding significantly and enabled us to double our impregnation capacity with the introduction of a second wet out bed to ensure we continue to keep up with customer demand,” he added.

To deliver on their growth plans, RSM required larger premises and Business Doncaster worked with them to source a new property; they moved into their new 35,000 sq. ft factory at Woodfield Way, Balby, in the Summer of 2022. Business Doncaster supported the move with assistance from the Business Investment Incentive Scheme and the ERDF Productivity Programme, that enabled the purchase of 48 storage units.

In addition to the move allowing RSM a much larger stock holding & increased impregnation capacity, it also allowed RSM to expand their specialist service & repair centre along with development of the business research and development function to ensure they remain at the forefront of the industry we serve for years to come.
