Online

  • Information about council services is available on the website.  
  • Residents can request, report and apply for a large range of services online. 
  • These services are available 24/7, allowing users to access services at a time of their choosing. 

 

Accessibility features 

  • The website uses some accessibility software (called ReachDeck).  
  • ReachDeck provides features that can help reduce barriers between the site's content for those with visual impairments. 
  • You can access these assistive features on the website by:

  1. Clicking on the headphones symbol that is available at the top of every page on the website 
  2. This brings up an options menu with icons at the top of the page, the features here include: 
  • Text to speech - reads on screen text out loud while highlighting the text 
  • MP3 maker - converts online content into MP3 files for easy listening 
  • Screen mask - with reading pane reduces visual stress and improves focus 
  • Text magnifier - magnifies text and reads it out aloud. This increases accessibility of even the smallest web text 
  • Webpage simplifier - creates a simplified view of a webpage and removes distracting content.

  • You can call the Council's main call centre on 01302 736000 - opening times Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:00pm (excluding Bank Holidays)  
  • There is an accessibility line available on this numbers for those customers who needs extra support when accessing Council services

In Person

  • Residents can visit the One Stop Shop in the Civic Office, Waterdale, Doncaster, DN1 3BU and access services in person. 
  • The One Stop Shop is open between 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday. 
  • 40 computers are available for customers to self-serve with Digital Assistants on hand to help. 
  • Disability bays all around the Civic Office for Blue Badge users accompanying a visually impaired person 
  • Staff available for assistance

Sensory Team

  • The Council has a team that offers support and services for adults who are blind or visually impaired 
  • Any form of sight loss that is impacting on your day-to-day life is eligible for support from the team 
  • The team can also provide daily living equipment to support independence in the home.
