You can order copies of birth, marriage, death or civil partnership certificates.
How much do certificates cost?
Copies purchased at the time of registration
Copies purchased after registration - standard service - ready for collection or postage on the 15th working day/3 weeks after the order placed (inc 2nd class postage)
Copies purchased after registration - priority service - same day service when ordered before 1pm (inc 1st class postage)
Where you require documents securely posting, please add £2 for recorded UK postage.
If your documents are to be sent overseas, international postage is £3.
Postage is included at 1st class for the priority service (please note - posting of the certificate will be next day so allow 4/5 days for receipt) and 2nd class for the standard 15 working day service.
Where you are collecting a certificate, please collect from Doncaster Register Office, Civic Office, Waterdale, Doncaster, DN1 3BU.

How to apply
You can obtain copies of certificates by completing the online form below. Alternatively you can telephone using the number below or apply in person at our Register Office Mon to Friday 9am to 4pm.
What we need from you
For a birth certificate (short or full version):
Birth certificates are produced in both short or full versions, however the cost is the same for both. If you need a certificate for official purposes e.g. a passport application, you will need a full certificate, short ones may not be accepted.
- full name
- date and place of birth
- parents' names
- mother's maiden name
For a death certificate:
- full name of the deceased
- date and place of death
For a marriage certificate:
- full names of the couple
- date and the place of marriage
For a civil partnership certificate:
Copies of civil partnership certificates are provided as either extracts or as full certificates, the cost is the same for both. The full certificate will show all details, the extract does not have any address details, as in order to obtain a full certificate the customer must provide the address details of both partners as correct at the time that the civil partnership took place.

Paying for certificates
You need to pay for certificates at the time of applying. You can pay by card or cheque made payable to DMBC.
