A street tree is any tree growing in a street at the edge of the carriageway or within the verge or footway.

Where felling a street tree is being considered, then in line with S115 of the Environment Act 2021 and 96A of the Highways Act 1980, City of Doncaster Council have a duty to consult the public before a final decision is made. There are certain reasons or circumstances which are exempt from the duty to consult, these are listed in the legislation.

The information on this page relates only to where the duty to consult applies. 

Where a consultation is required, it will be published on the tree and on this webpage. Each consultation will be open for a minimum of 28 days. When the consultation has closed the decision will be published below.

Removal of 2 trees - Doncaster Road, Mexborough 

Statement of reasons:

 The removal of these trees is to facilitate improvements to the highway which will alleviate traffic congestion at the junction of Pastures Road with A6023 Doncaster Road.
