The Local Development Scheme (LDS) and Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) together outline the procedure for producing the Local Plan.
Local Development Scheme
The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out how the Local Plan will be prepared, including the key timetable for when the various stages of the plan’s preparation will be undertaken. The current time table is updated taking account of time required to complete additional evidence base work, informal consultations on potential site allocations and related policies. The new LDS (December 2017) is available to view below:

Statement of Community Involvement
The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a statutory document setting out how the council will engage with our communities, businesses and organisations in the planning process.
The council places great importance on effective community involvement. It can be undertaken in a number of different forms dependant on what we want to achieve; whether it is to inform, consult, involve, collaborate or empower. In planning, we are committed to public engagement in the preparation of planning policies and during the consideration of planning applications.
The council approved the SCI on 2 July 2015. The new adopted SCI replaces the 2006 version and reflects changes in legislation, budgets, best practice and technology. The adopted SCI is available to view below:

As part of the preparation of the SCI, full public consultation took place between 17 April and 15 May 2015 which resulted in some minor changes to the document before it was adopted. A consultation summary report is available to view below:
