Archives, local studies and family history

We document the history of the borough from the earliest times to the present day.

Our archives and local studies services collect, preserve and provide access to a comprehensive collection of historical and contemporary information relating to the town of Doncaster, its metropolitan district and some adjacent areas.

We have expertise in the interpretation of historical information and statistics, and are always ready to lend whatever assistance the researcher might require, regardless of subject matter.

If you need a copy of a birth, death or marriage certificate, please visit the 'copies of certificates' section at the bottom of this webpage.
