What is this for?
Use this service if you have a planning question or need advice. The digital tool will guide you to the right information and online resources, and if it can't provide the answer, you'll be able to submit your enquiry directly to the planning team.
What is it going to cost?
There is no fee for using the enquiry service.
However, if later you decide to make a formal planning application or need pre-application advice, those, and other services will incur fees.
What we need from you
Before you start, please note:
- You will be asked to provide your email address upfront. We ask for this because if our digital service can't directly give you the information you need, we'll escalate your enquiry using a form. and the email lets us contact you with the response.
What you should expect from us
When you submit a general enquiry:
- We use your information to try to give you instant guidance or signpost the relevant planning rules, policies or guidance
- If the digital guidance does not cover your particular case, we will send your enquiry to a Planning Team member who can help more specifically, using the form that we may have asked you to complete
- You will receive a confirmation that your enquiry has been submitted and we'll contact you via the email you provided
- Our goal is to provide a helpful response in a timely manner
Why we collect your email
- To send confirmation that we have received your enquiry
- To reach you if the automated/signposted guidance isn't sufficient
