Doncaster and Yorkshire have gained a new landmark after an impressive public art feature was installed to commemorate the imminent completion of the Great Yorkshire Way airport link road.
The Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS) project - now known as Great Yorkshire Way - has provided a new highway from the M18 at junction three to Doncaster Sheffield Airport with links into Rossington and the iPort development.
This landmark feature commemorates Great Yorkshire Way which will open soon. It was installed in time for stage one of the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire cycle race which will use phase two of the link road and pass by the feature en route to the finish in Doncaster town centre.
iPort is a £400 million inland port project and one of UK’s largest logistics developments.
