Good governance

The following documents set out the requirements expected from employees, councillors and town and parish councillors in order to uphold the principles and values of good governance (sections of Part 5 of the council's Constitution):

Statement of vision and values

  • describes the general principles expected of elected members with regard to this authority's ethical values

Code of conduct for employees

  • outlines existing laws, regulations and conditions of service, and provides further guidance to assist the council and its employees in their day to day work
  • it is aimed at ensuring that employees are aware of the standards of behaviour expected of them by the council
