Our Services during National Restrictions
We can confirm that the vast majority of our services will continue in line with government guidance and keeping to existing COVID-19 compliant practices, but some may be affected. We've provided details below:
Under each of the headings, there is a list of activities and services that have been suspended or are operating to a limited service. We will keep this page updated as changes happen.
Legal and Democratic Services
The following activities and services have been suspended:

Weddings and Civil Partnerships can only take place in exceptional circumstances (where one of the couple or an immediate family member is terminally ill), funerals with restricted attendance, face to face birth registration and Notice of Marriage appointments will continue where resource allows. Death registration will continue to be done by telephone appointment.
Customers, Digital and Corporate Resources
Customer Services and the One Stop Shop will remain open safely with queries answered at the door and full entry restricted to essential attendance for appointments and essential service provision.

The following services are operating but have been scaled back:
- Pest Control - are now taking bookings for pests that can be treated inside your home. Unfortunately we are unable to enter houses in multiple occupancy so please bear this in mind when booking your appointment.
Local Offer, Children and Young People
- all services to continue (according to guidance). Libraries can also remain open to provide access to IT and digital services - for example for people who do not have it at home - and for click-and-collect.
Adult Social Care Services
- all services to continue (according to guidance).
Libraries & Heritage Services
- Cusworth Hall is closed to the public, the parkland remains open. We are busy planning how to reopen in a way that keeps our customers and staff safe
- All Museum Outreach and Events has now stopped – however, we are providing a service online
Economy and Environment
All services to continue in line with the guidance and the existing COVID19 compliant safe working practices
The following services are operating but have been scaled back:
