Visitor Guide highlighting what to see and do in Doncaster is launched

The 2021 Visit Doncaster guide has been launched showcasing all what Doncaster can offer visitors and local residents once the Covid-19 lockdown eases.

The online guide is available on the new look: www.visitdoncaster.com and will support Doncaster venues and attractions during these difficult times by encouraging people to come and explore everything the town has to offer.

The definitive guide highlights the places you can go and things you can see and do in Doncaster this year. There is plenty to learn about the historic town and certainly lots to enjoy across its borough.

Dan Swaine, Doncaster Council’s Director of Economy and Environment, said:

“Usually we launch the visitor guide at the start of the year but due to the pandemic and the uncertainty surrounding it, we held off until we had a clearer idea of what the future would look like.

“Many Destination Marketing Organisations decided to cancel their guides for this year but we didn’t want to because, now more than ever, our Doncaster venues and attractions need our support.”

Normally, the guide is distributed through third party agencies to people all around the country that take an interest. Due to the current situation, the guide will be available online at first but the normal wide spread distribution will take place when it is safe to do so.

Dan, added:

“Through our Visit Doncaster team we will be doing all we can to support and promote our Doncaster based venues and attractions and play a major part in the domestic tourism boom in 2021.

“There’s so much to offer families for a day out or a longer stay including the brand new Danum Gallery, Library and Museum opening in the summer.  We can’t wait to welcome locals and visitors back to Doncaster once again.”

Digital copies of the guide are available for download at: www.visitdoncaster.com/visitor-information/visitor-guide/

Physical copies will be available to collect from the Tourist Information Centre from mid-April as well as from a number of venues around Doncaster when they reopen.
