We need to let you know about some important road improvements in Bawtry. The works will start from Monday 23 August on a phased basis along the High Street, Doncaster Road, South Parade and Martin Lane.
Road verge improvements on South Parade (near Bawtry Hall) will start on Monday 23 August. We will also be preparing the carriageway for resurfacing along the route. To do this safely we will use temporary traffic lights Monday to Friday from 8am until 6pm, moving along the route in phases. These works should be complete by Friday 10 September.
To put down the new road surface safely and with the least disruption for road users, we do need to close the road at different points on six consecutive Sundays. This will start on Sunday 5 September with a closure from 8am to 6pm. Works will move to a different section of the route each Sunday. There will be no access for vehicles during these times and a diversion route will be in place.
We also need to close the road at the Gainsborough Road/South Parade junction to install new ducting for Northern Powergrid. This closure will be from 6pm on Sunday 29 August until 6am on Tuesday 31 August. There will be no access into and out of Bawtry, however access will be maintained for vehicles turning left from Gainsborough Road and vice versa.
We do apologise for any inconvenience but these are important works and they will make a big difference once complete.
