Despite the tough competition from hundreds of excellent applicants. Carers are at the heart of our communities, we strive to see, hear and support all carers. Doncaster Council are innovators in a ‘whole system approach’ using co-design, delivering a shared carer message and vision.

Councillor Rachael Blake, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said, “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for HSJ Award for System Led Support for Carers, recognising the collaborative efforts and dedication of our staff across the partnership. We are committed to delivering improved outcomes for Doncaster’s residents, and to be chosen among the other incredible nominees is a wonderful achievement.”

Councillor Nuala Fennelly, Cabinet member for Children, Young People and Schools said “Strong partnership working has supported the development of the young carers service.  However our most important partner are the young carers themselves.  We are proud how their voices have influenced the services provided and the number of young carers identified over the last year has almost doubled.  Every young carer now has a Young carers card to help them to be recognised, valued and supported by adults and professionals.”
