Test and Trace Support Payment Scheme

If you have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace and have been told to self-isolate, you may be entitled to financial support. If you meet all the following eligibility criteria, you are entitled to a lump sum payment of £500.

  • You have been told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace on or after 28 September 2020.
  • You are employed or self-employed.
  • You cannot work from home and will lose income as a result.
  • You are currently receiving at least one of the following benefits: Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, income-based Employment and Support Allowance, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support, Housing Benefit and/or Pension Credit.

This application is for one person only and any further applications within the same household must be made by each individual.

Please ensure that you have the below information available before starting the application:

  • NI number
  • Your 8 digit test and trace ID number
  • Your most recent bank statement, proof of self-employment or wage slips

You may also be eligible for a payment is you have had to take time off work to care for a child who has been told to self-isolate from 08/03/21;
You must still meet all the eligibility criteria and provide the evidence we need.

This application is for one child only and any further applications within the same household must be made by each individual.

An email or letter from the educational setting confirming the child must self-isolate MUST also be upload in the designated section if not Trace and trace ID is known.

We are required to contact the educational setting to verify your child is self isolating.

If the childs has no NHS track and trace number you MUST provide evidence of the requirement for your child to self-isolate. This can be a letter or email from the child’s educational setting.
You will be able to upload this later in the form.

  • You must sure you have stated above your unique NHS ID as issued directly to you by NHS Test and Trace
  • A bank statement in your name into which the payment can be made
  • Your most recent wage slip that shows your hourly rate of pay
  • Proof from your employer that you will have a reduction in your earnings as a result of self-isolating (this can be a letter or email from your employer)
  • If you are self-employed provide a summary of your last 3 months income and expenditure (do not send us invoices and receipts only a summary showing your earnings)

The Council relies on your consent to access your records contained in NHS Test and Trace data system, known as CTAS, for the purposes of confirming your eligibility for this scheme of payment. You can find more information on CTAS via the Privacy Notice please click here.

We will carry out checks with the Department for Work and Pensions for verification purposes. We will provide information to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs about any payments we make because Self-Isolation/Test and Trace payments are subject to Tax. If you are self-employed you must declare the payment on your self-assessment tax return.

Your data will not be shared with other entities outside of the Council for any purpose and you may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting the Council on 01302 735336 and choose option 1.
