Professional Learning

Professional Learning is the local authority programme to support, share, access training and development opportunities and become involved in creating new learning opportunities to cascade across Doncaster for schools/education establishments.

The team is placed under Education Standards and Effectiveness in Learning and Achievement, Learning and Opportunities: Children and Young People and one of its core function includes the responsibility to facilitate Professional Learning at all levels.

Professional Learning Team

  • the team will support and strengthen networks and opportunities for all staff supporting children and young people in our school communities in partnership with Partners in Learning, Doncaster's teaching school alliance;
  • the programme recognises new working relationships, e.g. Local Leaders in Education (LLEs);
  • in compiling the programme we have taken account of national initiatives and priorities as well those shared with us by schools for their particular staff development needs;
  • the team keeps records of activities undertaken by schools and individuals;
  • the role of the professional learning team will be to promote the core offer to schools.

The Doncaster Children and Young People’s Workforce Development Strategy
