Under the Equality Act 2010, schools have a duty to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations.
The Ofsted framework requires inspectors to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the provision for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
EMTAS staff come from a range of cultural backgrounds, and may work with schools/setting to plan and deliver lessons celebrating various aspects of diversity. Schools can also access resources from the EMTAS Loan Base.
Loan Base resources are available to subscribing schools/settings or on a 'pay-as-you-go' basis.
There is a range of books and Artefacts to borrow on short-term loan, including:

- stories from other cultures
- Traveller resources
- Artefacts and posters
- music and musical instruments
- multicultural clothes
- religious Artefacts
