Ways to pay your Business Rates

There are lots of different ways you can pay your Business Rates each month but we recommend you do it via Direct Debit or online.

Before you set up your preferred way to pay, we recommend you have your City of Doncaster Council Business Rates account number ready.

Direct debit

You can set up a Direct Debit payment for your Business Rates online today.

Direct debit is the easiest way to pay your Business Rates account. You can choose from one of 4 payment dates. We will always give you 14 days notice of a new payment plan and will only take payments on the date agreed. If this happens to fall on a weekend or bank holiday, payments will be taken on the next available working day. The direct debit guarantee ensures that if either City of Doncaster Council or your bank makes an error, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch of the amount paid. You can cancel a direct debit at any time by contacting your bank.

Online via debit or credit card payment

Telephone

Call 0333 2000 324 to pay by debit or credit card. The line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Post Office

The bar code on any letter sent to you allows you to pay by cash or debit card free of charge at any post office. You can find your nearest branch by using the Post Office branch finder.

Paypoint

The bar code on any letter sent to you allows you to pay cash at any outlet where you see the Paypoint sign. There is no cost for using this service.

Bank or building society

You can use internet or telephone banking by quoting:

  • BIC LOYDGB21425

As payments can take longer using this method, make sure they are paid in advance of your specified instalment date.

Cheque

Make your cheque payable to Doncaster MBC and include your Doncaster Council reference on the reverse of the cheque. Payments can take longer using this method, so please make sure they are paid in plenty of time before your instalment date.

If you change your method of payment you will receive new instructions telling you when and how to pay.
