The awards are run in partnership between Doncaster Council and the Free Press to help recognise exceptional people in Doncaster that have done something really special or given something back to their local community and have been designed to recognise people from all walks of life, young and old for a range of different contributions.

Shortlisted finalists were invited to a glitzy awards ceremony on 25th October at Doncaster Racecourse and be celebrated in the Free Press after the awards dinner.

COUNCIL WORKER OF THE YEAR AWARD:
Winner - Angela Beasley
Runner-up - Andy Maddox

SERVICE WITH A SMILE AWARD:
Winner - Ailsa Johnson
Runner-up - Linda Hall

CARER OF THE YEAR AWARD:
Winner - Rebekah Jade Quinn
Runner-up - Louise Gibbons

TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD:
Winner - Andrea Thompson
Runner-up - Liz Ellison

INSPIRATIONAL YOUNG PERSON AWARD:
Winner - Jack Meredith
Runner-up - Mitchell Keats

SPORTING HERO AWARD:
Winner - Andrew Landells
Runner-up - Bentley Community Cricket Club

FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR AWARD:
Winner - Kidz Du Care
Runner-up - Carol Ferguson and Valerie Quinn

NEIGHBOURHOOD SUPERSTAR AWARD:
Winner - Heather Maw
Runner-up - Julie Keegan

BRAVERY AWARD:
Winner - Cameron Brandon
Runner-up - Jade Barker

THE DONCASTER FREE PRESS SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE COMMUNITY AWARD:
Winner - Mavis Williams
Runner-up - Karena Collins

THE MAYOR’S LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:
