The Council owns and manages around 24,000 properties. These are a mixture of houses, flats, maisonettes, bungalows and some special schemes for older people.

Our Housing Services operate from Area Housing Offices. These are grouped into 6 Management Areas. There are several Area Housing Offices in each Management Area. A team of housing officers is based at each housing office. We also have a central office at The Council House and a Housing Advice Centre. The addresses and phone numbers of the offices can be found in USEFUL CONTACTS.

Your First Point of Contact

Your Area Housing Office is your main point of contact if you wish to discuss any aspect of your tenancy, or you just want general advice about your housing situation. For any repair or maintenance matters you need to contact the Repairs Call Centre. You can also access certain services on-line through our Housing Direct Service.

You can telephone your office. There are separate direct phone numbers for rent enquiries, tenancy matters and nuisance, or transfer and moving enquiries.

You may prefer to visit your office. Your enquiry will be handled initially by one of our reception staff. He or she will take details of your enquiry and may be able to give you an immediate answer. If not, he or she will put you in touch with a member of staff who can help.

You can arrange to see a Housing Officer in person at the office or in your home at a time convenient to both of you. If you want to see a particular member of staff it is best to make an appointment to be sure that he or she is available. Appointments can be made any time between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm Mondays to Fridays.

For addresses and phone numbers of Area Housing Offices see USEFUL CONTACTS.
