Help with moving around our site

Our website has been organised to try and make it as easy as possible for you to find the information you need.

Our Search homepage

The first page you visit on our website is the Search homepage. We have made this page with a large search box clearly visible above an image. The Search box uses the Google search engine to help you find what you want quickly and easily on our site.

The image changes regularly and is used to advertise an upcoming event or initiative in Doncaster.

Our Menu Homepage

This page is a more 'traditional' homepage with links to the most visited areas of the website. If you visit this page, and do not return to the Search homepage, then on your next visit you will be shown this page as your homepage. In order for this to work you must have cookies enabled in your web browser.

Main Sections

We have grouped together our web pages under different sections so that similar information will be found in the same place. For example, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit information can be found by following the links: Advice and Benefits > Help with housing costs. Here you will find all the information we have about claiming the benefit, including forms for you to print out and fill in.

Popular pages

This is where you will find the pages that are viewed most often on our website and so we have provided a quick and easy way for you to find them. Each month we gather information about how many people visit the website and what pages they look at and these influence the links that you can find in this area. Our Popular Pages are displayed as a 'cloud' on the Menu Homepage, or as a list from the link at the very top of each webpage.

Do it online

This is the area of the website that you will find all the ways you can interact with the Council. You may want to pay your Council Tax using our secure payments system or report an incident in your neighbourhood. You will also find all the application forms that the Council have, making it easier for you to find what you are looking for.

Council Chamber

This area has links to the Mayor’s website and to the Council Chamber where you will find information about your local councillor, minutes of council meetings etc.
