| | 05/03/10 - We are ready for the challenge…are you? | Doncaster Council’s mission to rebuild its Children’s Services department will be further underlined on Monday 8 March as part of a specially organised social care recruitment open evening.
Held in the Players Lounge at the Keepmoat Stadium between 5pm and 8pm, the event will be an ideal opportunity for interested candidates to meet with Directors and Mangers from across Children’s Services and find out more about becoming part of a ‘Modern, Efficient and Responsive’ organisation.
Consultants from the council’s recruitment team will also be on hand to answer application related issues and general information, including terms of conditions and employee benefits.
Attending the event, Doncaster Council’s Director of Children’s Services, Chris Pratt, said: "We want to recruit and retain the best qualified social work staff to Doncaster as part of our long term vision to create a new and highly experienced team that is dedicated to delivering an outstanding Children’s Service.
"A great deal of progress has been made in recent months, and there is still so much more to be done. Through the work of the Improvement Plan we now have clear priorities to assist us in striving forward accelerated and continuous improvement and focus on the delivery of high quality outcomes for children and families."
Councilor Andrea Milner, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, added: "I would like to encourage as many qualified social work staff as possible to drop in to our event next week for a friendly discussion over refreshments with key members of the team.
"Nothing is more important than ensuring the protection of vulnerable children and young people across the borough. We are taking on the challenge to radically change and improve all the things that have gone wrong in the past and very much welcome experienced candidates to come and join us."
