A national day of strike action planned on Thursday 24 April by staff across the country belonging to the National Union of Teachers (NUT) is expected to affect some schools in Doncaster.

According to the most recent figures received from all 130 schools across the Borough, the table below shows the number of local schools scheduled to either be fully open, partially closed or fully closed.

Status Primary Secondary Special Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) All Schools Percentage
Fully open 52 2 4 3 61 47%
Partially closed (some classes affected) 28 13 0 1 42 32%
Fully closed 22 1 3 1 27 21%
Total 102 16 7 5 130

The current information listed above was confirmed correct as of today, Monday 21 April, but is subject to change at any time. Any decision to participate in strike action is the responsibility of each individual school.

Most Doncaster schools planning to be partially or fully closed as a result of strike action have already sent letters to parents and pupils confirming their status and classes affected. Parents are advised to check directly with their child's school if they are unsure whether they will be affected by the dispute.
