The Asset Management is part of the Asset and Property Service established in July 2005. We have the challenging task of embedding a completely new function within the organisational structure.
Our aim is to make a real difference to the way the Authority's Land and Property Asset Portfolio is shaped and delivered.
Our team will bring a holistic approach and a strategic view to the identification and assessment of property requirements through working with key stakeholders, client groups and experts in the area – this way the team will have a real impact on the way decisions which impact upon the Authority’s asset base are made at the highest level.
Our team is currently divided into area teams to reflect the Council’s neighbourhoods. Please contact the relevant person for your area. (Please use 01302 before each number below)

Asset Management's Role is to:
To lead and drive the management of the Authority’s assets to ensure that the Council is a national leader in best performance across the public and private sectors and that the accommodation strategy is integrated with neighbourhood and political parties.
The preparation and annual review of the Corporate Asset Management Plan in consultation with directorates within the Council, parter organisations and other key stakeholders (this includes an active contribution to the preparation of capital investment plans and the corporate capital investment strategy).
Act as an Asset Management advisory service to directorates, working closely with the Directorate Management Team to build relationships and ensure customer focused Asset Management delivery.
Review Asset Management procurement and delivery functions to achieve efficiency and quality control, ensuring compliance with internal and external audit, quality assurance systems and performance management reporting requirements.
Provide and maintain an information hub of land and property data. This includes data relating to the Council’s landholdings via the Land Terrier and data relating to the Council’s buildings via the Assets Database.
Our main function can be divided into three roles:-
The Asset Management Consultant is the first point of contact for services requiring strategic (as opposed to technical) property advice. They have established links with the Area and Neighbourhood Teams and a good understanding of neighbourhood deliverables and identification of asset and capital implications.
Their work also includes responsibility across the schools portfolio, annual buildings meetings in schools, advice to head teachers and governors on suitability and net capacity issues in collaboration with Education.
The Asset Management Consultants have a close working relationship with the St Leger Homes centralised property team.
The Asset Data Officer is responsible for the collection of data in respect of all Doncaster Council owned buildings, and thereafter the population and maintenance of the Authority’s Corporate Property Database.
The information held by the Asset Data Officers includes basic building information (including photographs), condition survey data, hazard data such as asbestos surveys, utility information, and the fixed asset register.
The Asset Data Officers are the first point of contact for school annual building meetings, school net capacity data, school suitability data and general education asset data which is collated into the Doncaster Schools portfolio.
They also provide data to inform IFP on National Key Performance Indicators for Property (COPROP indicators).
The Asset Data Technician is responsible for maintaining an up to date record of Doncaster Council’s land and property ownership. This is known as the ‘Land Terrier’.
The Asset Data Technicians are the first point of contact for land ownership enquiries. They can only answer queries relating to land within the Council’s ownership, although they do have facilities to undertake Land Registry Searches for more in depth enquiries. Please note the Land Registry search facility is for internal use only.
They produce plans and and documentation relating to the Council’s land and property as well as providing plans to the Legal department for inserting into legal documents.
