Another major milestone has been reached in the redevelopment of Doncaster’s town centre, as Muse Developments, Doncaster Council’s development partner, submitted an outline planning application for the Civic and Cultural Quarter.
The submission of detailed planning applications for key elements of the first phase including the new civic offices and new performance venue will follow in due course.
Preparatory work including demolition of the former Doncaster College is expected to start in the autumn. Subject to approval of the planning applications, the first of four phases of construction is proposed to start in 2009. The flagship development will take six to eight years to complete.
