The occasional dispute between a consumer and a partnership member is an unfortunate fact of life. In most cases this is due to misunderstanding or incomplete information. Ordinarily the best way to resolve a dispute is by friendly agreement between the parties. The alternative could be legal proceedings, leading to the possibility of disproportionate costs, lengthy proceedings and an unpredictable outcome. Therefore, set out below are the rules of the Scheme aimed at facilitating an amicable settlement of a dispute.

In order to work successfully, dispute resolution usually requires some compromise by both parties and an understanding of this is essential in order to reach an agreed solution.
