
What do I do next ?
If you want to become a member of the Home Services Directory simply call Consumer Direct on

and state that you would like to become a member of the South Yorkshire Home Services Directory.
Your details will then be forwarded to an appropriate officer in the Trading Standards Service where your business is based. This will either be Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield or Rotherham.
The designated officer will then call you to ascertain some relevant information prior to arranging a visit to you to complete the documentation required to further your application.

Completed application form
Completed Criminal records Bureau check form for relevant operatives.
Proof of Public Liability Insurance
Copies of blank business Documents.
Membership fee
Photographs of all operatives for identification
Once we have completed all the checks and we are satisfied that you have met all the criteria of the scheme we will issue you with all the appropriate stationary and identification that you will need and your business will be added to the Home Services Directory.
The Scheme aims to provide consumers with a Directory of vetted traders who will abide by the terms and conditions and dispute resolutions procedures of the scheme that carry official Home Services Directory Identification.
The membership fee is non-returnable if your application is unsuccessful or subsequently you lose your accreditation to the scheme.
Membership is for 12 months - There will be an annual fee and every 3 years there is a requirement for full screening checks to be carried on all operatives.
