Doncaster residents honoured by The Queen in her birthday honours

Three Doncaster residents have been honoured by Her Majesty for their work in supporting the local community.

The three Doncaster recipients are:

  • OBE - Susan McDermott, National Director and Non-Executive Director, Rainbows Bereavement Support GB. For services to Education.
  • MBE - Ernest Ian Lindley, Foster Carer, Doncaster. For services to Children and Families.
  • BEM - John Bernard George Marsden. For services to the community in Tickhill, South Yorkshire.

Following the publication of the Queen’s birthday honours list, Mayor of Doncaster Ros Jones, who herself was honoured with a CBE earlier this year, said: “ I am delighted for the three Doncastrians who have been honoured by The Queen in her birthday honours. They have been recognised for their work to support our Doncaster community and for their commitment to the borough and helping to make it a better place in which to live, learn and develop. Congratulations to them all and I would like to thank them on behalf of the council and the people of Doncaster.”
