My Doncaster is an online service that gives citizens, Council Officers, Council Members and Partners access to a wide range of information about services and facilities in the local area.
My Doncaster allows you to do a search on a property or area and find out more about it, including information about Planning Applications. You will also be able to find out what local services are available and how to make reports directly to the council over the internet.
To use My Doncaster go to www.doncaster.gov.uk/MyDoncaster
My Doncaster is best viewed in Internet Explorer 6.0 and above, Netscape 8.0 and above, or Mozilla Firefox 1.0 and above. We would recommend a screen resolution of at least 800 by 600 and at least 256 colours. Different settings may restrict your viewing of My Doncaster.
My Doncaster has been designed to make sure the user interface is simple and intuitive to use, ensuring information is presented both in a map form and as text. All areas of the application are accessed through a series of tabs. For help getting started, please refer to the online help.
Distances quoted in the Find the Nearest and In the Area tabs of My Doncaster are calculated as a direct line between the user selected address / location and facility type and do not follow any road or public transport network.
Practically, this means that the distance needed to travel to the facility may be different than the distance indicated by the system, it also means that in certain circumstances the facility identified as the nearest may not actually be the nearest facility.
There are a number of common issues that are encountered when searching for an address. The following list gives a number of suggestions and tips which can be used for searching for addresses:
If you are unsure of the spelling or actual name of a road / property then the star (*) character can be used as a wildcard. For example searching for a street containing Hall*, will return all streets that start with the word Hall.
If your search fails to return the expected result try to be less specific and use the asterisk / star as describe above.
If you are unable to find your street try different inputs. For example, a road know locally as Bluebell Court might actually be registered with the authority as Blue Bell Court. If in doubt check your Council Tax bill which should have the address correctly formatted.
Is the street or property within the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council Administrative Area? You can use the On the Map tab to check this.
If you are still unable to find your street, please let us know, using the contact details at top of the page, and we will investigate.
We are always looking to improve the quality of the data in the My Doncaster System. Please use the email address at the top of this page to provide feedback about the data in the system.
You have either used the Map tab to select a location outside the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough area or a system fault has occurred. If this situation persists, please inform the contact at the top of the page.
If you have performed a "Find the Nearest" Search and then clicked "Display on map", the application highlights the feature, by displaying a yellow circle.
The "Clear Highlights" button clears all these yellow circles featured on the map.
The "Clear Highlights" button does not clear the matched location (the map pin) nor does it clear the displayed map layer (should one be visible) which is represented by red triangles
