Follow these guidelines and you will hopefully avoid getting a Penalty Charge Notice…

• CHECK the times when parking is allowed
  
• PARK FULLY within the markings of the bay
  
• CHECK that the bay is not suspended – especially if you park there frequently
  
• DO NOT leave your vehicle to go and get change for a pay and display machine
  
• CHECK that the Pay & Display machine shows the correct time purchased before it issues the ticket and ensure the ticket is displayed prominently (windscreen nearside) in your vehicle.
  
• DO NOT leave more than one ticket on display – always remove expired ones
  
• DO NOT come back to your vehicle and insert additional coins into the pay and display machines
  
• DO NOT ignore a Penalty Charge Notice if you receive one. It will not go away!
  
• DO NOT remove a Penalty Charge Notice from a vehicle which is not your own
