This service is for children and young people looked after by the local authority and those leaving their care.
With the help of other community nurses, the nurse for looked after children is here to talk to you about your health needs. If you want the nurse can also talk to your carers about your health needs.
Health does not just include things like hearing and eye sight tests or medical examinations and dentist visits. The nurse can give you information about diet, medicines and drugs, immunisations and infections, body changes and sexual health.
Health support also includes just listening if you want to talk about something that is worrying you.
In some cases information may need to be shared for your safety or that of someone else, otherwise any health advice given by the nurse will be treated as confidential.
If you don’t think you can contact me, you are welcome to ask a carer or someone else that you know to ring and make contact for you.
