Doncaster's Supporting People Team

The day-to-day work of the programme is carried out by the Supporting People Team. The team is responsible for the management, co-ordination and delivery of the local programme. Tasks include monitoring the quality of services receiving Supporting People grant funding, paying organisations who provide these services, ensuring those who are entitled to receive help with the cost of their service receive it and to developing a strategies and annual plans for the Supporting People programme.

The role of the Supporting People Team is to improve the quality, effectiveness and consistency of supported housing services by:

• Quantifying the amount and cost of all local supported housing related support services (supply mapping) 
• Managing the Supporting People funding, which will enable the payment of future housing related support in Doncaster 
• Ensuring that the supply of supported housing related support meets the needs of the local community 
• Improving the range and quality of the housing services provided 
• Mapping existing local need, including unmet need, to ensure that all vulnerable people receive relevant supported housing services 
• Integrating the planning and provision of supported housing services with wider local and national strategic objectives
• Introducing effective and strategic decision-making in the commissioning and procurement of housing related support services.
