The Council produces a monthly forward plan to tell people of important decisions that it plans to take. Copies are available at libraries and council offices.

Are there any other ways I can get involved with things that affect me?

Yes - by taking part in a Community Forum!
A Forum is about bringing people together with public services and businesses who work with the communities they serve. At a Forum what you want will be taken into account, and your problems and concerns listened to. They provide an opportunity for local people to influence services and development in their community. Already people attending Community Forums have worked together to deal with issues that affect their area. They are delivering local action plans, which are being used by the Council and its partners to improve future decisions.

So what does this mean to me?

This means that by becoming involved in Community Forums you can have a say in issues like:
crime, transport, health services.
Look out for notices in your area advertising the next meeting - why not go along? If you want to know more about being involved in a Community Forum, please contact the Community Development Team on 01302 736920.
