Doncaster Council is currently rolling out the use of Visa Company Barclaycard Purchasing Card within a number of its services.  

Purchase cards are an e-procurement tool, which assists in the purchase of low value, low risk goods and services ensuring efficiency and cost effectiveness. The benefits to the Council of a properly administered purchase card system include: 

• Prompt payment is improved;
• Reduction in ordering time and errors;
• Simplified process;
• Faster delivery;
• Better information;
• One monthly statement to verify instead of multiple invoices to check; and
• One payment to the bank instead of multiple payments to many suppliers
