The Schools Procurement Service is a traded service available for Doncaster schools to subscribe to from 2007/08 onwards. It covers:
A point of contact in the Council for help with any procurement issues;
The provision of procurement advice, guidance and training for staff and governors
Analysis of each school's current procurement activities and suggestions for improvements;
The provision of a Visa purchasing card for non-bank account schools, to enable more efficient ordering and payment
The promotion of collaborative procurement arrangements with other schools and public sector organisations, to ensure access for schools to the most effective and economic contracts
Assistance for schools in developing and reviewing procurement strategies
The provision of high quality information on procurement developments for head teachers, business managers and governors, to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and Department for Children Schools and Families guidance
The provision of a dedicated schools procurement website containing guidance, supplier information and current issues (both local and national)
The service is delivered by the Schools Procurement Advisor, Anne Rowe and the Schools E-Procurement Support Officer, Christine Morgan who are part of Doncaster Council's Corporate Procurement Team at Colonnades House, Doncaster.
