Audit of Accounts

NOTICE IS HEREBY given that pursuant to Sections 15(2) and 16(1) of the Audit Commission Act 1998 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations (England) Regulations 2003:

1. From the 26th July, 2010, to the 20th August, 2010 between 9.30 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. (Monday to Friday) any person interested, on application to the Chief Financial Officer, 9th Floor, The Council House, College Road, Doncaster, DN1 3QA, may inspect and make copies of the accounts of the above-named Council for the year ended 31st March, 2010, and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto.

2. From 23rd August, 2010 until the conclusion of the audit process, a local government elector for the area of the council, or his/her representative, may ask the District Auditor questions about the accounts. Please contact the District Auditor at the address given below to make arrangements to ask questions.  

3. Electors or their representatives may make objections to the District Auditor, from 23rd August until the conclusion of the audit process, for the reasons specified below:

   1. any matter in respect of which the Auditor could take action under Section 17 of the Audit Commission Act 1998 (namely an unlawful item of account).

   2. any other matter in respect of which the Auditor could make a report under Section 8 of the said Act.

All such objections must be made in writing to the District Auditor, John Prentice, Littlemoor House, Littlemoor, Eckington, Sheffield, S21 4EF stating the grounds on which it is made and that a copy of has been provided to the Chief Financial Officer, Doncaster Council.
