The Local Public Service Agreement 2nd Generation (LPSA 2G) details twelve target areas that Doncaster Council has agreed with the Government to improve performance over a three year period. The agreement between the Council and the Government was signed by Central Government on the 26th of April 2006 and will run until 2009 (except for certain targets where a 2008 endpoint has been agreed).
The principle in the agreement is that in exchange for permission to borrow and the receipt of a 'pump priming' grant, the council will agree to implement plans to improve performance in the twelve areas to hit 'stretched' targets. The Government will reward this improved performance with a grant of up to £7m dependent on the number of targets achieved.
Performance against the targets are reviewed by the Council’s Executive Board through the Quarterly Performance Monitoring process and will be the subject of internal monitoring by the Performance & Improvement Team.
